Tanto so como such dan mayor fuerza a la palabra (adjetivo, nombre o adverbio) que llevan detrás y se traducen por "tan".

We enjoyed such winderful weather!
We had such fun last night
they were all so wonderful to us!

Nota: Si such va seguido de nombre contable singular (precedido de adjetivo), pondremos al artículo a.

such a fast horse

Pero si va seguido de nombre no contable, o de nombre en plural, no lleva artículo.

such interesting films

Las expresiones introducidas con so y such suelen ir seguidas de una oración subordinada con that que expresa el rsultado o la consecuencia.

The film was so boring that we left early
It was such a boring film that we left early

Nota 1: Sin embargo también pueden emplearse sin la oración subordinada.

Nota 2: So much (tanto/a) y so many (tantos/as) van seguidos de nombres.
